I’ve worked in third sector for the last 18 years. Yep that’s a long time and you know what, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
I do feel a sense of purpose and I know that every day I’m working – I’m doing something good for someone.
I’m mainly worked in health, international development and humanitarian sectors and did a few years in the civil service – for a bit of a reality check!

I have been lucky enough to work at some high profile organisations and some who are so small but integral to a community. For me, they are all just as important as the other and gave 100% to each one of them.

I’ll be starting a new role in April (I’ll tell you more then!) and I love the excitement of starting a new role and all the things you want to do when you are there. I will miss my current team at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy and I look forward to hear how they get on.
So, if you’ve always wanted to get into the charity sector – or even if you haven’t – I would recommend it. It’s hardwork but so satisfying when you know that you have done some good.
